May 2016 Evening Program
Creating the Perfect Talent Management Stew with Research, Empiricism, and a Dash of Neuroscience
Kim E. Ruyle, President, Inventive Talent Consulting
It’s essential for talent management professionals to make accurate predictions about people. We must create and execute practices that attract, engage, develop, and retain the best talent. But by all indications, many are struggling. Research indicates that about 40% of high potentials stall or derail soon after they're identified. Predictions about future success are abysmal. False positives are common. Engagement and retention metrics are in the tank. Many or most managers are incapable of distinguishing between performance and potential. Research and empirical studies reveal talent management paradoxes and pitfalls that are not intuitively obvious. Neuroscience can help explain why some practices succeed and others fail. These issues are discussed in this interactive session by a talent management professional who has extensive experience as a practitioner and a researcher.
