Holly Burkett, PhD, CPT, SPHR

Today’s turbulent business landscape, combined with the amount of knowledge needed to sustain high performance amid growing complexity, requires sophisticated information flow across boundaries and evolving change capabilities from organizations, leaders, and performance improvement professionals. Change is at the center of every performance improvement strategy. Yet many performance improvement functions don't handle change well and are vulnerable to threats brought about by a new “normal” of frequent business disruptions, moving targets, and shifting demands from customers who continually want more, better, faster.

In this interactive workshop, you’ll explore proven tactics for building resilient, adaptive performance improvement strategies, processes, practices, and skills in the face of constant churn and change. These research-based practices are based upon Holly’s book, “Learning for the Long Run”, a 2017 Award Winner for Outstanding Human Performance Communication from ISPI. You’ll discover how diverse professionals from public and private sector organizations have put these practices into action to gain credibility and traction as a strategic business partner. You’ll be able assess your own organizational, functional, and individual resilience and prioritize opportunities for adding and creating sustainable value as a performance improvement professional.

The success or failure to adapt to unpredictable change is commonly cited as a key factor separating high- and low-performing organizations. Don’t get left behind the performance curve as the speed of change intensifies! Learn and share best practices for shaping readiness conditions, building change resilience, and helping leaders create the change they want to see.

Come explore critical change challenges with your peers and take a deeper dive into:

1. Proven practices for building resilience across multiple levels
2. Resiliency assessment tools, case scenarios, and lessons learned
3. Mindsets and behaviors that promote and sustain change readiness
4. Specific areas where resiliency practices can be applied to your own function or a current change challenge
